Bid Description:
Sealed bids on forms prepared by the City of Essex Junction will be received by the City of Essex Junction at the City of Essex Junction offices, located at 2 Lincoln Street in Essex Junction, Vermont, until 2:00 p.m. (local time) on 08/ 27 /2026 for the Clarifiers Rehabilitation project.
The contract generally includes the following work items at the Water Resource Recovery Facility located at 35 Cascade Street in the City of Essex Junction:
Primary Clarifier #1
• All steel in immersion including walls, rake arms and any miscellaneous piping. This does not include the steel-effluent channels.
• Concrete Floors in immersion including grout injection to stop water infiltration, resurfacing, and lining.
ADD ALTERNATE A
• Add all atmospheric steel on Primary Clarifier #1. See Specification Section (2.02.B.)
Secondary Clarifier #1
• All steel in immersion including drum, rake arms and any miscellaneous piping.
• Concrete Floors in immersion including grout injection to stop water infiltration, resurfacing, and lining.
ADD ALTERNATE B
• Add concrete launder trough on Secondary Clarifier #1. See Specification Section (2.02.C.)
Special Instructions:
For product specifications related to the bid items, email chelsea@essexjunction.org to request the document be emailed to you. Update 8/20/2026 optional pre-bid site visit, a few questions came up that need to be shared with the group.
1) Attached, find a revised bid document. Alternate B has been removed from the bid because it does not relate to the clarifiers included in this project. It has been annotated with red strikethroughs.
2) The current draft of the contract specifies a timeline of 45 calendar days for project completion after the contract is signed. The City is open to revising this timeline once the lowest bidder is selected, in order to establish a more realistic schedule that both parties agree upon.
3) The tanks are considered confined space entry.
