Bid Description:
Sealed Bids for the reconstruction and stabilization of the failing slope on Boulay Road will be received by the Town of Wheelock at the Town Offices, or by e-mail to wheelocktown@gmail.com and alawless.townofwheelockvt@gmail.com, until 12:00pm local time Thursday, June 25th, 2026. At which time the bids received will be publicly opened at the Town Office. If bids are not e-mailed, bids can be dropped off in person at the Wheelock Town Office before the deadline Tuesday-Thursday, 8:00AM-3:00PM. The address of the Wheelock Town Office is 1192 VT-122, Lyndonville, VT 05851.
The project consists of removal and disposal of stumps and brush and unsuitable material offsite, installation of stabilization material, construction of a concrete block retaining wall, bank reconstruction, various erosion control measures, roadside infrastructure and road reconstruction.
Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Cross Consulting Engineers, PC, 103 Fairfax Rd, St. Albans, VT 05478. Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays during regular business hours and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office at cost. Deadline for questions is 10AM Thursday June 18th, 2026. Answers to questions will be posted here by noon on June 19th, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10AM onJune 17th, 2026. The meeting will be held at the site: Boulay Rd (Town Highway 47), Wheelock, VT 05851. Answers to questions at the pre-bid meeting will be posted by noon on June 19th, 2026. Outside of the pre-bid meeting the Engineer will be available for additional guidance. All questions shall be referred to the Town at wheelocktown@gmail.com. Bidders may inspect the site at any timefrom the public road and ROW.
The Town of Wheelock anticipates selection of a contractor at a Special Selectboard meeting on June 30th, 2026 at 6PM. The Town of Wheelock is an equal opportunity employer.
