Bid Description:
The Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) in collaboration with Smugglers’ Notch Resort (SNR) is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the removal of two (2) dams within the Brewster River Watershed on SNR property in Cambridge, VT. The Morses Mill Dam Removal project consists of the full removal of a 30-foot-wide timber crib dam on the Brewster River located between Rt. 108 and Desjardin Road. In addition, the adjacent floodplain will be re-graded and stabilized to provide floodplain access during storm events. The SNR Access Dam Removal project consists of the removal of a concrete weir outlet structure and associated three (3) 24-inch corrugated metal pipes (CMP) under the access road and the installation of a 12-foot wide by 8-foot tall concrete box culvert. In addition, the existing pond footprint shall be filled (average of 2-3 feet) and a stream channel and connected floodplain shall be restored. Bidders may choose to provide a bid on one or both dam removal projects.

Mandatory Site Visit |
A mandatory pre-bid site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28th at 9 AM. This pre-bid meeting will cover both projects. Interested contractors shall meet at the back of the parking lot of the SNR Maintenance Building located at 4400 VT-108 Cambridge, VT 05464 (44.58683939, -72.78997263) to first access Morses Mill Dam. |
