Bid Description:
The Caledonia County Natural Resources Conservation District, with financial assistance provided by Watersheds United Vermont through the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation Clean Water Investment Program, is seeking competitive bids to remove a concrete weir and restore the Houghton Brook by an excavation contractor with experience in dam removal, in-river work, or work of a similar nature. The concrete weir spans the width of Houghton Brook in St. Johnsbury, VT, adjacent to Goss Hollow Rd. Work tasks will generally involve removal and disposal of concrete weir; removal and disposal of a concrete building, removal of trees; grading in restoration area and fill site, river channel formation; stream channel restoration using onsite bed materials and site restoration.
