Bid Description:
The Vermont Department for Children and Families’ (DCF) mission is to foster the healthy development, safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency of Vermonters. The Department is structured around six Divisions that deliver programs and services to Vermonters; one of those Divisions is the Economic Services Division (ESD). ESD administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The purpose of the LIHEAP is to assist eligible Vermonters pay for home heating bills. The Crisis Fuel Assistance Program is one component of Vermont’s LIHEAP, which provides assistance to Vermont households facing a home energy crisis. The prevention or alleviation of a home heating crisis supports the Department for Children and Families’ mission to improve the safety and well-being of children and families and to provide timely and accurate financial supports for children, individuals, and families. The Crisis Fuel Assistance Program services are provided by five nonprofit Community Action Programs (CAP) across Vermont during Crisis Fuel Season.
