Bid Description:
Since 2018, DEC has been developing project funding opportunities to implement projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions from diesel powered engines, vehicles and equipment operating in Vermont. The purpose of this Request-for-Applications is to award funding to eligible projects that reduce NOx emissions from mobile sources in the most cost-effective way possible and demonstrate the feasibility of all-electric heavy-duty vehicles.
DEC is seeking applications for eligible mitigation actions under the Volkswagen EMT pertaining to the all-electric replacement or repower of Class 4-8 local freight trucks and Class 4-8 school, shuttle, or transit buses. Of the total $5,796,400 available in funding under this Request-for-Applications, half will be allocated projects involving Class 4-8 local freight trucks and half will be allocated to projects involving Class 4-8 school, shuttle, or transit buses. DEC reserves the right to modify these allocation percentages based on applicant interest. The project period for this funding begins on January 1, 2025 and ends on December 31, 2026. Time extensions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
