Bid Description:
Town of Weathersfield RFP For Engineering Services The Town of Weathersfield, Vermont is soliciting Proposals from engineering firms on an expedited basis for Design and Construction Inspection Services to stabilize a large washout along Branch Brook Road. The name of this project is the “Branch Brook Road (T.H. 82) Emergency Bank Stabilization Project.” The design, permitting, bidding, and construction of this project is being conducted on an emergency basis in response to significant damage that has been done and continues to be done to Branch Brook Road by flooding from Tropical Storm Irene. It is anticipated that this project will be funded by FEMA. A mandatory pre-bid meeting for engineers will be held at 8:00 AM this Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at the washout site. The washout site is at the intersection of Branch Brook Road and Vermont Route 131 just east of Downers Four Corners (i.e., the intersection of Vermont Routes 131/106). Due to road closures and detours, the best access to the site is via Exit 8 of I-91, then west on Route 131 to Branch Brook Road. Proposals are due on or before Noon on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 with the award of contract anticipated to be made by the Weathersfield Select Board that evening. The chosen consultant should be prepared to begin work immediately thereafter. A copy of the draft RFP may be requested from Town Manager Jim Mullen, townmgr@weathersfield.org, with a final version handed out at the mandatory site visit.
