Bid Description:
Contractors are invited to bid on the Ricker Pond State Park Wastewater System Improvement project and the Waterline Replacement Phase II project for the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation at the Ricker Pond State Park in Groton, Vermont. These projects will be bid as a base bid and an alternate. Both projects will be awarded to a single bidder. The projects will be performed simultaneously. The base project, Waterline Replacement Phase II, consists of, but is not limited to the construction of approximately 6200’ of 2” CL 160 PVC waterline to replace the existing galvanized iron pipe waterlines that serve the park. The existing GIP waterline is above grade and is subject to damage from falling trees, drainage and freezing problems. The existing GIP waterlines are drained each year; this increases the oxidation of the pipe causing rust and sediment problems throughout the system. The new 2” CL 160 PVC waterline is to be buried in the center of the existing park road. The existing GIP and other old abandoned galvanized metal pipes shall be removed and properly disposed of offsite. The project will also include approximately 800’ of 1” PE water service lines to a new boat washing station, existing toilet buildings, two rental cottages and the group camping area. The project shall also consist of connection to the existing water system, toilet buildings, rental cottages and water stands, valve pits, drains, a beaver dam crossing, replacing an existing culvert, new water stands, a new boat washing station, storm water and erosion control, turf establishment and incidental work necessary to complete the project. The Alternate Add #1 project consists of, but is not limited to improvements to the wastewater systems serving two cottages, an existing park’s rental cottage and the recently acquired “Perry Merrill” cottage. The project will include pumping, crushing and abandoning in place an existing septic tank and dry well. The project will include two new 1000 gallon pre-cast concrete septic tanks, two new 4’ I.D. pre-cast concrete pump stations, 360 LF of new 2” CL 160 PVC sewer force main, 530 LF of new 21/2” CL 160 PVC sewer force main and a high point air release valve pit. The project will also include connection to the existing cottages’ plumbing, 20 LF of new 4” SDR 35 PVC gravity sewer and connection to the existing 3000 gallon concrete septic tank at toilet building #3. Sealed Bids accompanied by proper Bid Security will be received by the Department of Buildings and General Services, at 10 Baldwin Street, Montpelier, Vermont, until Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 3:30 PM, at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud in the department conference room. Bonafide Bidders may obtain documents at the Department of Buildings and General Services, 10 Baldwin Street, Montpelier, Vermont 05633-7501 or by calling 802-828-5685 or 5684.
