Bid Description:
The Barre City Cow Pasture is an approximately 77-acre municipally owned parcel of land zoned as conservation/open land. The property has a network of heavily used trails. In 2013, the Cow Pasture Stewardship Committee recognized the need for a professional assessment of the property. The Barre City Cow Pasture: Inventory, Assessment, and Recommendations (Sharpless 2013) provided the Committee with a framework for stewardship of the property. The document provides an overview of the property’s physical features, land use, water, wildlife, trails, and access. Most recommendations in the document have been achieved, including the creation of a Management Plan for the property. The City of Barre's Cow Pasture Stewardship Committee is inviting professional trail builders to submit proposals for the completion of work identified in the RFP for multiple projects located on the City's Cow Pasture property. The Committee was awarded an Enhancement of Recreation Stewardship and Access (ERSA) Trail grant on December 15, 2023, and expires on December 31, 2025. There are multiple projects to be completed, including but not limited to trail work, a pedestrian bridge, improvements to existing trails and reroutes, trail assessment and signage.
