Bid Description:
Federal and state laws require that the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) must consider the impacts and potential consequences of transportation projects on the environment and obtain applicable environmental resource regulatory clearances and/ or permits prior to project construction.
The Environmental Section of the VTrans Project Delivery Bureau is the unit responsible for coordinating with federal and state resource regulatory agencies during project development to obtain clearances and permits. This is generally accomplished directly by agency staff or by agency staff using the services of contracted consultants. Given that VTrans works on roadways, bridges, bike/ pedestrian trails, railroads, and airports; the Contractor and/ or his/ her subcontractor may be required to assess a wide variety of resources under numerous scenarios involving various transportation modal projects.
To accomplish these objectives the Project Delivery Bureau Environmental Section requires the services of consulting firms employing environmental and cultural resource scientists, technicians, specialists, and sub-consultants.
