Bid Description:
The City of Burlington (“City”) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide all design-build services for the design and construction of the complete repair of the 24-inch diameter cast iron North Wastewater Treatment Facility (“North WWTF”) inverted siphon located in the Winooski River. The inverted siphon pipe broke on July 12, 2023 during the statewide flooding. Through various investigations the siphon was discovered to have broken near the shore line adjacent to the North WWTF and estimated to be broken at least 20-feet further into the Winooski River. The North WWTF is located at 3080 North Ave., Burlington. This project is funded in part by FEMA so federal procurement requirements and general conditions apply. The project consists of furnishing all design documents, record documents, labor, materials, and equipment for the design, installation of repairs to the broken 24-inch cast iron inverted sewer siphon crossing the Winooski River, abandonment and off-lining of the siphon bypass/ structure and siphon commissioning.
