Bid Description:
Addendum #1:
Due to a shortage in supply chain for culverts, the Town has purchased the 4 culverts for this project and will provide them to the selected contractor for installation. Addendum #2, topic #1: The Town will accept proposals that include the contractor identifying the need to close Bog Rd during installation of the 4 culverts. If a contractor proposes to close the road, it must be stated in writing in the proposal with acknowledgment of the following conditions: proper signage (for example "road closed to through traffic") shall be placed at each end of Bog Road and at the approach to the closure locations for the duration of the closure, and only during the times of said closures; closures at each location shall be limited to the minimum time needed to install the culverts and the road shall be re-opened each night including removing the signs when the road is not closed. At all other times during work, the road must remain open to minimum 1-lane of traffic.
Addendum #2, topic #2: before Monday August 23, surveyor-type ribbon will be placed at the start and end of each "segment", with a written label identifying the segment number and "Better Roads FY22", to assist bidders in identifying the specific work locations.
Reshape existing and installing new grass and stone ditches, turnouts, stone aprons, armored shoulder, stone headers on existing drainage culverts, upsize four culverts, remove shoulder berms and a few trees, and re-establish road crown/surface. 12-inch minus angular (not round) stone shall be used for all stone ditches, check dams, culvert headers, stone aprons and splash pads unless otherwise specified. Surface gravel supplied by the Town is to be hauled and installed by the selected contractor. Waste material to be hauled, dumped, and leveled at designated location in the Town gravel pit by the selected contractor. Contractor shall maintain at least 1-lane passage by residents and emergency vehicles on this low volume road throughout the duration of the project.
