Bid Description:
Sealed bids for VT 127 (Blakely Road) / Laker Lane Intersection will be received at the Colchester Town Offices, 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, Vermont 05446 until 2:00 pm, Friday, February 21st, 2020, local time and then publicly opened and read aloud. The project generally involves roadway widening to accommodate the addition of new left and right turn lanes from Blakely Road onto Laker Lane. The project will be constructed during the 2020 construction season.
Contract Documents (Printed and Electronic – pdf) are available at Donald L. Hamlin Consulting Engineers, Inc. (DLHCE) (802) 878-3956, 136 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, VT 05452 at a cost of $200 per Printed set or $20 per Electronic set. To be eligible to bid on the project, bidders must obtain the plans at DLHCE.
A bidders list will be maintained by DLHCE, and the list, along with any addenda, will be provided to anyone who has received the plans. All requests for information regarding this project shall be made via email to Warner Rackley, PE, WRackley@colchestervt.gov (subject line: Colchester – Blakely Road / Laker Lane Intersection Question) until Monday, February 10th.

Special Instructions:
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 at the Colchester Town Offices, 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, Vermont 05446.
All bidders on this project shall be on the Agency of Transportation’s prequalified list under the category(ies) listed below or shall have submitted a complete prequalification application to the Agency of Transportation, Contract Administration, a minimum of 10 working days prior to the bid opening. All bidders shall be on the current VTRANS Contract Administration pre-qualified list:
“Contractors List of Roads and Highway Construction Category”
The Town of Colchester reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the Town. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 90 days following the bid opening.
