Bid Description:
Ascutney FD #2 is soliciting bids for two separate contracts described as follows: Contract #1 includes installation of one new 3” gate valve and approximately fifty curb stops and boxes within their water system. Contract #2 includes installation of approximately thirty water meters with remote readers within the water system. Both contracts are funded through state and federal loan programs, consequently state and federal regulations and requirements apply. All state and federal requirements can be found in the solicitation bid packages for both contracts. Interested Bidders (for either or both contracts), should contact the project engineer, Aldrich + Elliott, PC, attention Chris Kaufman at (802) 879-7733 or ckaufman@aeengineers.com to request a bid solicitation package. Bid solicitation packages will be transmitted electronically to interested bidders at no cost. Alternately, both bid solicitation packages can be viewed at the Weathersfield Town Office, 5259 Route 5, Ascutney, VT 05030. Contact Ed Morris, District Manager at (802) 230-6262 to schedule a time. These projects are funded in part through the Vermont Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. Consequently, the following provisions apply to this WORK (more detail for each of these provisions can be found in Instruction to Bidders): 1. Bid security in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders 2. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements 3. ‘AIS” (American Iron and Steel) provisions of P.L. 113-76, Consolidated Appropriations Act 4. Federal Wage Rates as determines under the Davis-Bacon Act A pre-bid meeting for both contracts will be held at the Weathersfield Town Office on August 7, 2019. The pre-bid meeting for Contract #1 (Valves and Curb Stops) will be at 8:30 AM and for Contract #2 (Water Meters) at 9:30 am. Bidders are encouraged, but not required to attend. Bids will be received at the Weathersfield Town Office at 9 am on August 13, 2019, where they will be received, opened and publicly read aloud.
