Bid Description:
Act 21 of 2019 went into effect on May 15, 2019. The Act calls for testing for the presence of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at public drinking water systems throughout the State of Vermont. The Act states that initial testing shall be conducted on or before December 1, 2019, and that ongoing monitoring is also required. Specifically, five PFAS substances must be sampled: PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid), PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid), PFHxS (perfluorohexane sulfonic acid), PFHpS (perfluoroheptanoic acid), and PFNA (perfluorononanoic acid). To prepare for a positive test indicating the presence of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances, DEC is seeking proposals for a Contractor to prepare a Drinking Water Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances Response Plan and Guidance Document (the Plan, or Drinking Water PFAS Plan) that describes short-term (immediate, or interim response) and long-term (permanent) alternatives that public non-transient non-community (NTNC) and public community water systems (CWS) may utilize to respond to detections of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances in the system’s drinking water.
