Bid Description:
The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is soliciting formal proposals and qualifications from consultants, non-profits, educational institutions, municipal governments, and for-profit businesses to provide conservation planning assistance to agricultural operations in the Lake Champlain Basin. The proposed project is a collaboration with DEC, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets (VAAFM) and local partners. DEC is the primary contact.
DEC has received funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) on conserved farms in the Lake Champlain Basin, with prioritization given to operations in the Missisquoi Bay, St. Albans, and South Lake Watersheds. Operations outside these watersheds may also require assistance and will be prioritized by DEC. Priority will be given to proposals including resources within these key watersheds.
