Bid Description:
As a Division in the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the Vermont Geological Survey (VGS) is guided by the mission to protect the environment, human health and safety. The VGS has been involved in mapping projects funded through the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program for over 25 years. VGS products are surficial and bedrock geologic maps, plus applied maps used by towns, government agencies and consultants to address issues such as: groundwater resources and planning, mineral resources and to mitigate landslide and rockfall hazards DEC is seeking proposals to 1) conduct surficial geologic mapping and develop derivative groundwater resource maps for the Stowe, Vermont 7.5-minute quadrangle; and 2) collaborate with the Geological Survey to implement a standardized list of map units, symbology and descriptions for surficial maps in Vermont. Up to $20,000 is available for one year, from June 1, 2019 – May 30, 2020. Work involves considerable collaboration and coordination with the Vermont Geological Survey and town officials. In-kind match required: A minimum of $26,000 in-kind or cash match is required. Proposal should identify the source(s) of match.
