Bid Description:
In compliance with the Federal Substance Abuse Treatment Block Grant (45 CFR, Subpart L), Vermont seeks to expand and improve our existing substance use disorder treatment service system to better serve Vermont Women, particularly those who are pregnant and parenting. The language of the block grant and Vermont’s dedication to quality care necessitate that the state: •addresses the unique treatment needs and concerns of women and their families. •promote the integration of evidence-based, gender responsive treatment services forwomen and their families across the lifespan •ensure priority access to treatment services for pregnant women •treat the family as a unit and therefore admit both women and their children intotreatment services, if appropriate. In light of these priorities, the Vermont Department of Health, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs seeks technical assistance to assess the current state of the women’s substance use treatment services and recommend trainings, evidence-based programs, approaches, additional American Academy of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) levels of care, or other services to improve substance use disorder treatment for Women and their families. The Vermont Department of Health – Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs (VDH-ADAP) is seeking proposals from experienced vendors to: 1.conduct an evaluation and needs assessment of the current substance use disorder treatment service array and program offerings for Women/ Women and their children. 2.assess and identify methods for improving and enhancing women’s gender-specific substance use treatment in Vermont. 3.make recommendations for substance use disorder treatment service system enhancements 4.develop a technical assistance plan to guide future work.
