Bid Description:
The Town of Stowe (Town) will receive sealed bids in the Office of the Town Manager, Akeley Memorial Town Hall, PO Box 730, 67 Main Street, Stowe, Vermont, 05672 until Friday March 29, 2019 at 1 pm, local time, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. The project involves the removal and reconstruction of existing sidewalks along approximately 1.5 miles+/- of Class 1 Town Highways, including the installation of curbing, drainage, landscaping and lighting, the installation of underground conduits, duct bank and structures to allow for the elimination of existing overhead wired utilities on Main Street, installation of approximately 1150 LF of 12” water main and the removal of existing concrete pavement and full depth reconstruction of approximately 0.4 miles+/- of South Main Street. Electronic copy of Bid Documents including Instructions to Bidders and proposed Contract Documents are available from the Town of Stowe Public Works Department. A Mandatory Pre-Bid conference will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10 am at Akeley Memorial Town Hall. Bid Security in the form of a certified bank check payable to the Town or a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid is required. The successful Bidder will be required to demonstrate qualifications, furnish Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract value and, furnish a Certificate of Insurance meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive irregularities and consider Bidders qualifications and factors other than price in award considerations if, in the opinion of the Town Manager, it is in the best interest of the Town to do so.
