Bid Description:
The STATE OF VERMONT, Division for Historic Preservation (VDHP) requests proposals for the restoration of the barn at the Kents Corner State Historic Site in Calais, Vermont. The c.1870’s timber framed bank barn located on the Kents Corner State Historic Site is in dire need of stabilization and restoration. The project will require a large amount of work to reverse several decades of neglect and deferment. The project will also entail removing and reversing previous restoration efforts that have not benefited the structure or were not properly carried through. VDHP has put forth several areas that need attention to stabilize and protect the structure from imminent and future damage. The final goal of this phase of restoration is to have the structure stabilized and sided. PLEASE SEE AMENDMENT ATTACHED CONTAINING BARN ORIENTATION PHOTO (posted on 3/25/2019). All questions concerning the Request for Proposals must be sent by email to alex.tolstoi@partner.vermont.gov and james.duggan@vermont.gov by March 25, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Answers will be communicated in writing to all bidders in a timely fashion.
Any change to or changed interpretation of the bid documents resulting from the Pre-bid Conference or from any other cause upon which VDHP intends bidders to rely, will be communicated in writing to all vendors in receipt of bid documents. Proposals prepared in response to this Request for Proposals must be either emailed to Alex Tolstoi at alex.tolstoi@partner.vermont.gov and James Duggan at james.duggan@vermont.gov, mailed, or hand delivered in a sealed envelope marked: “Proposal for Kent Barn Restoration” and received by VDHP no later than 1:30 PM, April 5, 2019 and must be addressed to:
