Bid Description:
RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed bids on forms prepared by the Engineer will be received by the Town of Colchester, at the Town of Colchester Offices, 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, Vermont, until 2:00 p.m. (local time) on March 29, 2019 for the Town of Colchester, Hercules Drive Culvert Replacement Project. The following is an overview of the major project items: 1) Supply and Install 80 l.f. of 60’’ HDPE Pipe 2) Supply and Install Two Stone Headwalls 3) Removal of 160 l.f. of Existing 36” GMP Culvert 4) Traffic Control 5) Temporary By-Pass Road 6) Roadway Repair All work will be in accordance with Drawings, Specifications and other Contract Documents and information provided by the Town of Colchester, 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, Vermont. The prospective Bidders are responsible for inspecting the site and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents. BIDS WILL BE PUBLICLY OPENED AND READ AT 2:00 p.m. (local time) on March 29, 2019 at the office of the Town of Colchester, 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, Vermont. LOCATION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of the Town of Colchester, 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, Vermont and the office of Donald L. Hamlin Consulting Engineers, Inc., 136 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, Vermont, on or after January 28, 2019. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Drawings, Specifications, and other Contract Documents may be obtained upon application, at the office of Donald L. Hamlin Consulting Engineers, Inc., on or after January 28, 2019 every weekday, except Saturday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. upon the payment of a non-refundable $75 per set. The payment shall be in check form and shall be drawn payable to Donald L. Hamlin Consulting Engineers, Inc. BID GUARANTY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Guaranty in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, payable to the Town of Colchester as a guaranty that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and file acceptable Performance, Labor, and Material Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after the award of the Contract. Acceptable form for a Bid Guaranty is either a bid bond or certified check. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids. CONTRACT TIME: If awarded the contract the contractor agrees to complete the work in its entirety within 30 calendar days with the earliest start date of July 1, 2019 and having a completion date prior to September 1, 2019, commencing seven (7) days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
