Bid Description:
The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has a mission to preserve, enhance, restore and conserve Vermont’s natural resources, and protect human health for the benefit of this and future generations. The Waste Management and Prevention Division (WMPD) of the DEC is charged with regulating Solid and Hazardous Waste management facilities to prevent waste generation where possible, to minimize impacts to the environment and human health when necessary, and to remediate, restore and redevelop contaminated sites to sustain community vitality.
DEC is seeking proposals for a contractor to acquire market share data information on covered electronic devices as defined by the Vermont Electronic Waste Law for calendar year 2019 (January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019); develop an estimate of pounds sold for each electronic manufacturer by device category and by cumulative total; analyze and fill gaps in the data; and compute the resulting Vermont market share percentage for each manufacturer. Market share estimates will be used by DEC to verify data self-reported by electronics manufacturers and/or their authorized representatives. This data will be used to assess manufacturers’ portion of the cost of the Vermont E-Cycles Program, which is a program that benefits all Vermonters by providing free collection of covered electronic devices. Up to $20,000 is available for the performance period ending July 31, 2019.
